Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm is likely to launch its DTH services with disruptive pricing on December 15, 2016. The service subscription will be free for the first six months akin to the Jio "Welcome Offer", according to a report by Gizbot.
The report added that the DTH service is expected to start from as low as Rs. 185 per month.
The Gizbot report said the telco is expected to launch various combo-packs in India. The South Indian Channel Combo will be priced at Rs. 195 per month, while the Sports Channel Combo will be available starting from Rs. 210 per month.
The Sports Channel combo pack will also offer channels like Star, Zee TV, Colors and Sony.
but another report by the India Express.com said that the DTH service will come in the form of a high-speed optical fibre – pushing speeds up to 1 Gbps.
“The hardware will include a set-top-box, as well as an Android smartbox or Apple TV that will help them control the content and also play games,” according to the the IndianExpress.com
