This is good news for consumers that Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has uploaded the complete list of 332 Pay TV Channels in India, and their respective MRPs (Maximum Retail Price).
All major DTH operators have announced individual pricing of all their TV channels following the TRAI order. Viewers can pick TV channels as per choice and can pay accordingly.
TRAI has already said via a PRESS RELEASE: “The new framework provides for complete transparency on Pay Channel pricing structure whereby no distributor (DTH, Cable TV, IPTV operators) can charge above the MRP declared by a broadcaster.”

Viewers / consumers are advised that if they are choosing à la carte selection of channels, then they shouldn’t pay more than these MRPs of the channels. Plus, Rs 130 as a Network fee every month, which will also allow you access to more than 100+ FTA or Free to Air Channels. Now I think DTH or Cable TV providers will competite on free to air channels and services.
It means now consumer will see which DTH or Cable TV operators giving best and maximum free to air channels and services. Because after Trai rule distributor cannot change price or cannot offer discounts.
